About us:
This blog has been started by Prabhakar Swaroop. He is a Harvard-trained gastroenterologist and has been a faculty, teaching gastroenterology fellows, gastroenterologists as well as medical students at Harvard Medical School, St. Louis University, and UT Southwestern Medical Center. He has published multiple manuscripts and has extensive research experience in Colorectal cancer, Crohn’s disease, and ulcerative colitis. His diet is predominantly vegetarian with occasional wild-caught salmon or sardines. During his fellowship, he realized that many of the common ailments that he saw stem from dietary and lifestyle choices but that was not the focus of modern medicine. He sees patients daily and routinely advises them on healthy dietary choices.
When he has downtime, he enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, and photography.
In this blog, he brings his experience, expertise, and thoughts about a vegetarian life.
